課程概述

Course Objectives:
1.This graduate course is designed for graduate students of the Dept. of Japanese Language and Literature. In the first semester, students are instructed to understand basic theories and foundations of Cognitive Linguistics, and Cognitive Semantics, and theories of Cognitive Grammar.
2.In the second semester, firstly, students learn how to draw image schemas. Secondly, regarding with issues that Japanese grammar presents, such as how to clarify diversified meanings presented by polysemic words, distinguished features and characteristics that are presented by diversified metaphor expressions, as well as grammatical problems and issues that Japanese language presents.
3.For methods of grading and evaluation, each students’ grade is decided on considering all the following performances: How students participate in discussions and how well students can support his point of views; individual presentation; written tests; short articles and term paper, etc.
